Janmashtami Celebration

Janmashtami, the birthday of Lord Krishna is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in India in the month of July or August. According to our Hindu calendar this religious festival is celebrated on ‘Krishna Paksha’ on the 8th day of the dark fortnight.
Janmashtami at Jump Thru Joy the best Montessori pre school in pashan, was also celebrated with great enthusiasm by the children of Jump Thru Joy. Here we were prepared with full excitement to welcome and celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday. The children were also dressed up as little ‘Radha’ and ‘Krishna’ and were excited to come to school. The team had arranged a child friendly ‘Dahi Handi’ and gave the children the right information about why and how is Janmashtami celebrated.
The creative takeaways were different for each class. The Playgroup class had created a ‘Basri’ with old newspaper which was really beautiful and children really loved it. tha Nursery class decorated readymade ‘Handis’ and were told why Lord Krishna loved to bread the ‘Handi’. the Jr. Kg and the Sr. Kg class made creative handmade ‘Mukut’. All the children really enjoyed making the creative activities.
The children of JTJ also understood the importance of celebrating Krishna Janmashtami and were very happy to celebrate it with their friends and their teachers. Through this event celebration children at JTJ took with them the information about lord Krishna, about how, when and why we celebrated Krishna Janmashtami and also about Lord Krishna’s Life. Through events like these, children understand the different diversities in our Indian culture and also the different types of celebrations and their importance.
